Essential Services
Dispensing We dispense medicines and appliances on NHS and private prescriptions. Patients are provided with information and counselling on the correct use of their medication. A computerised record of prescription medication is kept in confidence and used to assess potential interactions or side effects, both for prescribed medication and sales of non-prescription products.
Disposal of unwanted medicines
We will dispose safely of patient's unwanted medication.
Promotion of healthy lifestyles
We provide opportunistic one to one advice on healthy lifestyle topics such as smoking cessation and healthy eating. We also support the health promotion campaigns organised by the Local Health Board.
Signposting
We will signpost or refer patients to other health professionals or organisations, if further support, advice or treatment is required that cannot be offered from the pharmacy.
Support for self-care
We offer a wide range of non-prescription medicines for the treatment of minor ailments and pharmacy staff are available to provide advice and information.
Support for people with disabilities
Our pharmacy has been refitted to allow easy and full access to all our services in line with the Disability Discrimination Act. Various compliance devices and aids are also available.
Clinical Governance
Our pharmacy is committed to continually improving our services through the application of clinical governance. We were one of the first pharmacies in the UK to write and adopt Standard Operating Procedures for our professional services. Our pharmacy complies with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code on confidentiality.
